original polaroid photos would be ok, and would gradually fade to a yellow sepia tone, and possibly add 1% blur,
try creating second layer, add brown and make transparent 80%, then add motion blur ~2pixels, also could adjust dark shades in,
these are good examples, and you could try changing only the images yellow and green hue/ saturation,
add size to make canvas larger around edges and double lower edge,
flickr frame/ polaroid,

You are currently reading "How do you turn a regular photo into a polaroid?"
Yikes!
Why would you want to spend hours manipulating images in Photoshop or another digital darkroom program.
I would approach the project by shooting the image (copy the image) using an actual Polaroid camera. It would be clean, quick and verifiable.
Use a Polaroid to copy the print you have is prob the easy way, use a large light soure to avoid reflections
